Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse - Travel - (NICU RN)

Unit Summary: 32 bed. Level 3 & 4. Typical surgeries: gastroschesis/oomphalocels/abdominal surgeries/myelomeningoceles/fresh trachs/central lines. Drips. NP Ratio: 1:1-2 Float to PICU/IMU. Functions at the Standard Level of nursing practice. Responsible for independently applying the nursing process through the assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation and documentation of pediatric patient care. Selects and administers the appropriate care taking into consideration the age and developmental level and size of the patient. Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing. Should be able to identify own limitations and seek resources as needed. Required Qualifications

CA RN license# and expiration BLS/NRP/PALS 2 years of NICU Level 3/4 with strong pre/post op surgical experience; must be willing to float. Must be flexible with working either 12 hour rotations shifts or straight nights. NO DAY SHIFT POSITIONS OFFERED. If traveler chooses rotation shift they will follow the same 4 week schedules core staff follows. Rotators who begin their contract halfway through a schedule will need to work two weeks of nights or days (depending on which shift they are assigned by manager), then work a full 4 week schedule of the opposite shift, and continue to rotate shifts from there. Travelers are allowed to self-schedule with the expectation of the traveler properly rotating themselves (if they are a rotator),
