Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse - Travel - (NICU RN)

Job Purpose and Summary: Serves as an advanced beginner registered nurse, conducts patient assessments, participates in the development of the plan of care, implements and evaluates care according to patient specific age and/or developmental needs. Collaborates with other health care team members in the delivery of care. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.Duties and Responsibilities• Demonstrates behaviors in concert with hospital mission, values, policies, & procedures.• Uses the nursing process to care for the number of patients per unit ratio of varyingly medical complexity. Notes subtle changes in patients' condition and reports changes immediately. Gathers patient data to determine care priorities. Identifies cultural and ethnic issues in planning patient care. Seeks assistance in locating necessary resources and personnel. •Evaluates patient progress and revises plan of care accordingly. Develops therapeutic relationships with patients and families that enable them to assist in planning.
