Nurse to patient ratios 3:1 & 4:1 for all shifts.
ER Techs. Patients range in age from Infants to Geriatrics.
Staff works in 8 and 12 hour shifts.
Unit patient population: All ED patients with high emphasis on cardiac patients.
Patient Care Delivery System: Primary. Medication system: Pyxis profile. Meds and drips administered: Ratient Sedation, Rapid Sequence intubation. Special Unit Procedures: Patient sedation, Chest Tube Insertion, Thoracentesis, Spinal Tap, Closed Reduction, Cardioversion. Ethical Unit Procedures: Blood Admin, Suction Curratage. Documentation System: T-System. Supplemental Staff required to float when necessary. Scrubs can be any color, RN provides their own scrubs.
