Job Description & Requirements

Progressive Care Nurse - Travel - (PCU RN)

1. Plan, organize, implement and evaluate patients according to policy, giving priority to the patient population that the holding bay is designed for (i.e. cardiac catheterization and Special Procedures radiology patients). 2. Prepares patients for above mentioned cases by; insuring IV access, vital signs, pre-procedure documentation (i.e. consent, history and physical, labs, radiology reports, cardiopulmonary reports, medication reconciliation sheet, allergies, npo status, preps, alerts), and any additional physician orders written for the case. Complete preoperative checklist. Notify physician when necessary. Use of SBARR and Ticket to Ride procedures. 3. Administers medications as ordered by physician. 4. Accurate charting and charging of patient care. 5. Recognizes life threatening situations and responds appropriately. 6. Maintains required competencies including arterial sheath removal and conscious sedation. 7. Knowledge of cardiac medications, emergency procedures and medical equipment. 8. Monitoring of post procedure patients per policies. 9. Performs other duties as indicated.

Required Qualifications

Requires Previous ICU, post heart catheterization recovery, or post operation recovery experience preferred, Will need ACLS. Have to pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam.
