The Medical Center at Bowling Green’s open heart recovery and vascular surgical unit provides care for immediate post-operative open heart and trans-catheter aortic valve replacement patients as well as complex post-operative thoracic and vascular patients. The unit is known for providing care for complex cardiac and vascular surgery patients from their immediate post-operative period through discharge. The Medical Center at Bowling Green has been chosen by Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield as a Blue Distinction Plus Center for Cardiac Care, recognized as a 5-star Center of Excellence for Cardiac Surgery, recognized as a Becker’s top 100 Great Heart Program, and ranked by Care Chex as the #1 Heart Institute in Kentucky for medical excellence in major heart surgery.
